2ND ANNUAL SECTION 3 HOLIDAY PARTY

On December 14, Section 3 hosted its 2nd Annual Christmas Meeting and Dinner at Moretti’s in Edison Park, and it was once again a great success. Members were encouraged to bring their significant others and children, creating a warm and lively gathering with 43 members, 2 guests, and 9 children in attendance.

Preparations began at 2:30 PM, and the event officially opened at 3:00 PM, with check-in and a cash bar available.

The Section 3 meeting began promptly at 3:15 PM and ran for 30 minutes, covering key 2025 highlights and upcoming plans, including:

-> Section 15 Sauerbraten Dinner – 35 Section 3 members attended
-> 2025 Schobermesse – A tremendous success hosted by Section 3 & Section 7 at the Luxie Club in Aurora, which will also host the 2026 Schobermesse.
-> Northern Illinois Food Bank Event (October 2025) – 12 Section 3 members volunteered; in 2026, this event will be held at Feed My Starving Children. More info to come.
-> Luxembourg Pilgrimage (May 2025) – Six Section 3 members traveled to Luxembourg to celebrate the Lady of Luxembourg Anniversary, which was blessed by Cardinal Hollerich. The group also proudly carried the Section 3 banner in a parade through the streets of Luxembourg City

The 2026 slate of Section 3 Officers was then nominated and approved, with the motion made by Pete Schroeder Sr. and seconded by Pete Schroeder Jr. All nominees were approved.

Jake Jones followed with a video presentation about Luxembourg and discovering one’s Luxembourg heritage, which was well-received by attendees.

Dinner was served buffet-style, featuring Moretti’s celebrated cuisine. The food was so popular that it was difficult to keep up with demand — a true testament to how much everyone enjoyed it.

A special visit from Santa Claus and his helper was a highlight of the evening, delighting the children with personalized goody bags and providing plenty of opportunities for festive photos at a holiday backdrop complete with fun and humorous accessories. Additional entertainment included a 50-25-25 raffle and a Christmas-themed guessing game, rounding out a joyful and memorable evening for all.
