DESCRIPTION:Section 3’s Annual Holiday Meeting will be held on Sunday\, December 14th\, 2025\, starting at 3:30 PM.\nAn invite will be sent out in November but save the date.\n\nLOCATION:\nMoretti’s Ristorante & Pizzeria EP\n6727 N Olmsted Ave\nChicago\, IL 60631\n\nCost is $45 for members and new members. If you attend\, then $25 of your cost will be applied to 2026 Section 3 dues\, so your net cost is $20 for this event. (JoAnn’s earlier contribution this year will fund $5\, and the Section’s interest income will fund $20 of the event’s $25 shortfall per member.) Non-members will pay $45\, but why be a non-member if membership comes free? You do not need to be of Luxy heritage to be a member.\n\nChildren under 12 years old will cost $20. The North Pole has been contacted\, and Santa said he will be in Chicago that day and will greet us at our meeting.\n\nFood will be the same as last year. It was suggested that we have the meeting start earlier\, so we are making the timetable an hour earlier than last year. It will now be as follows:\n\n• Set up at 2:45 PM\n• Arrival at 3:30 PM with the children\, to be especially prompt.\n• From 3:30 PM to 4:15 PM\, everyone arrives\, and children meet Santa. The bar is open – cash bar for all beverages\, including soft drinks.\n• Our Section 3 meeting will start promptly at 4:15 PM – 5 PM.\n• Dinner Buffet from 5 PM to 6:30 PM\n• Strike & Pack Up at 7 PM\n• Wheels Up by 7:30\n\nThe Bears play the Browns at noon\, so the game will not conflict with the 3:30 PM start time.

The exhibit is the result of a partnership between Loyola University Chicago\, the Edgewater Historical Society\, and the Luxembourg Cultural Society of America. Five Loyola students under the supervision of Prof. Brad Hunt researched and produced the exhibit\, which will be on display through the end of 2025.

DESCRIPTION:The mass for our Luxembourg Lady of Consolation at the Carmelite Monastery in Des Plaines will be on Sunday\, October 24\, 2021 at 10:00 AM.\n.\nThe address for the Carmelite Monastery is 949 N. River Road\, Des Plaines.\n\nAfter mass we have a short meet and greet with the Sisters.\nThe Sisters are not worried about Covid as they already practice social distancing.\n\nWe do a pantry shower for the Sisters to help stock their shelves with non-perishable foods. Any canned\, boxed or bagged food is welcome. (or feel free to give an envelope to them with cash or a check at the meet and greet)   The food can be dropped off before mass in the entrance to the Convent.  We will have someone directing you to that door.\n\nThere will be a luncheon after\, at about 11:30 at Hackney’s on Lake in Glenview where we come together to share stories and enjoy the company of our fellow Luxembourgers.\nHackney’s gives us a room and everyone orders off the menu and pays for their own meal.
